The research supporting team is mainly responsible for managing multiple technical platforms for research and service including Gene Modification Platform, Micromanipulation Platform, Animal Model Platform, Animal Management Platform, Pathology Analysis Platform, Cell Biology Platform, Informatization Platform, High-throughput Screening and Analysis Platform, and Molecular Detection Platform. These platforms aim to provide comprehensive, professional, and efficient technical support for investigators from universities, institutes, and hospitals majoring in the biomedical research.
Gene Modification Platform creates new experimental animals and cell models by using transgenic technology, gene knockout/knock-in technology, viral transduction etc. to introduce, delete, or modify particular host gene.
Micromanipulation Platform provides genetically modified animals and related technical services such as sperm freezing, embryo freezing, in vitro fertilization，strain depuration etc by microinjection and embryo transfer technologies.
Animal Model Platform provides various animal models to reproduce similar pathological damages (function, metabolism, or morphology) to that in human diseases by artificially introducing pathogenic stimulus (physical, chemical, or biological interventions). These models may be valuable for study the etiology, prevention, and therapeutics of human diseases
Rui Zhang, technician, more than 5 years research experience of animal experiment. He is skilled in rat and mice myocardial infarction model, cardiac ischemia/reperfusion injury, and ultrasonic inspection and measurement for rat and mice.
Xi Wang, technician, with more than 5 years research experience of animal experiment. She is mainly skilled in tumor models, such as intestinal cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, and carcinoma of urinary bladder
Xiangjie Kong, technician, skilled in rat and mice cardiac hypertrophy models
Qiang Wang, technician, skilled in rat and mice cardiac hypertrophy models, and hemodynamic measurement for rat and mice
Qiaofang Wei, technician, mainly responsible for establishing diabetes model, atherosclerosis model, abdominal aneurysm model, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease model.
Cheng Du, technician, mainly responsible for establishing diabetes model, atherosclerosis model, abdominal aneurysm model, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease model.
Shuo Xiong, technician, mainly responsible for establishing diabetes model, atherosclerosis model, abdominal aneurysm model, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease model.
Xiangyu Zhu, technician, skilled in establishing mice liver and kidney ischemia/reperfusion injury models.
Animal Management Platform aims to normalize and standardize the animal feeding based on the SPF conditions and provides the services for laboratory rodents such as strain depuration, live conservation, frozen conservation, strain breeding and expanding. Our platform has 600 strains of genetic engineer mice, and 100 strains of genetic engineer rats.
Pathology Analysis Platform aims to examine the pathological changes occurring in different organs, tissues, or cell types. Major tasks include tissue processing (fixation, dehydration, embedding, and tissue section), staining (H&E, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry), and observation.
Cell Biology Platform is to provide primary cells and cell lines for research, perform compound screen at cell level, and establish cell bank.
Ling Huang, director of Cell Biology Platform, master degree in biomedical engineering from Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, more than 3 years of research experience in cell culture. She is mainly responsible for primary cell culture, cell model establishing, and establishing cell bank.
Yusang Su, technician of Cell Biology Platform, master degree IN biomedical engineering from Huazhong Agricultural University. She is mainly responsible for cell culture, cell model, and cell bank establishing
Informatization Platform is responsible for informatizing management of genetic animals resources, animal model resources, plasmid resources, virus resources, cell resources, research data and, personnel archives and establishing related libraries to integrate various resources and insure the integrity and accuracy of research data.
Li Zhang, master degree from Huazhong Agricultural University. She is mainly responsible for patent application and data arrangement of genetic animals.
High Throughput Screening Platform aims to identify genes, proteins and metabolites relevant to human diseases by using high throughput technologies including microarray, RNA-seq, protomics, and metabonomics. Thus we try to systemically elucidate possible mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of human diseases at gene expression, protein expression, and metabolite levels, which will provide powerful clue and idea for our research group. This platform also aims to mine high throughput data of the lab and public available database to search the novel target molecules relevant to human diseases and provide inexhaustible stimulus for our research group.
Molecular Detection Platform is responsible for quantitative analysis of protein and mRNA expression.
Xin Liao, junior college degree, 2 year experience in protein detection.
